Waroeng Kampoeng has a great choice of Indonesian Dishes
When our friends and family visit us in Bali we always take them to this place as well as many others. After they have been in Bali for some time we ask them where they would like to return for lunch or dinner and many times the answer will be Waroeng Kampoeng.
Before I tell you about the great Food I want to mention some important things. A lot of locals come here which is a good indication that the Food is good and prices are good. When you enter the place you will notice a good mixture of visitors - locals and foreigners, however I have to recommend not to use their Toilets as they are not sit down Toilets and also always wash your Hands before and after your meal. The Service is really good, Yudhi is very helpful and if you don't understand what the name of the Meal means ask for him! There is a big choice of different Rice and Noodle Dishes, then Chicken, Beef and Pork and the Seafood and Fish and they also have Vegetarian Dishes. Almost every Sauce will be available with different Meat or Fish and they also do Hotplates. Prices start at about 1 US$ per Dish so it is great Value for Money. We usually order some different Dishes and put them in the middle of the table so everyone can taste different flavors and pick their favorite. As the kitchen is fast there is no need to order all the Food at once - it is very easy to get more Dishes quick.
Some of our favorite orders are: KoLoKe (see picture above) (chicken in Batter with Sweet and Sour Sauce) Nasi Goreng Hong Kong (Fried Rice with Vegetables) Udang Tepung (Prawns in Batter) Bistik Ikan (Fish in Breadcrumps and sweet and sour Sauce) Mie Hot Plate (Fried Noodles with Shrimps, Chicken and veg in spicy Sauce) Ayam Kecap Manis (Chicken in Chilli Soya Sauce with Onions) Well we could go on and on - so I recommend you go there and taste this very nice Food!!
